Nissan Versa is available in four-door sedan and hatchback body styles and its most basic models offer little in the way of convenience features. If you opt for the cheapest trim level, you'll be cranking your own windows, climbing across seats to unlock doors and humming to your own tunes because there are neither power accessories nor even a radio. But you still get enough space for four 6-footers, comfy seats, a soft ride, a nicely crafted interior and a large trunk.

Stepping up to the higher trim levels gets you common features like power accessories, air-conditioning and a radio. But the Versa is one of the few cars in its price range to offer such items as keyless ignition/entry, a navigation system, an iPod interface and Bluetooth. In other words, depending on your preference, the Versa can be either bare-bones transportation or one of the best-equipped small cars on the market.


Buy a 2011 Versa if your immediate transportation needs call for a small car that’ll won’t bust your budget but will surprise you with its all-around competence. Wait for the 2012 Versa if you hanker for the next-generation model and want to gamble that Nissan won’t dally until model-year 2013 to introduce it. In any event, Nissan dealers will discount outgoing first-generation Versas to clear inventory for the redesigned replacement – be it a 2012 or 2013 model.

The 2011 Nissan Versa is a subcompact car available in sedan and hatchback styles. The two lowest trims -- 1.6 Base and 1.6 -- are sedan only, while the 1.8 S and 1.8 SL can be had as a hatchback as well.


The 1.6 Base lives up to its name with scarcely any convenience equipment, providing only 14-inch steel wheels, a tilt steering wheel, intermittent wipers and four audio speakers (but no stereo to go along with them). The 1.6 adds air-conditioning, antilock brakes (optional on Base) and the option to get an automatic transmission.

The 1.8 S trim adds 15-inch steel wheels, power mirrors, cushier front seats and a stereo with a six-disc CD changer and an auxiliary audio jack. The Power Plus package adds power windows and locks, keyless entry, cruise control and padded door armrests.


The 1.8 SL adds 15-inch alloy wheels, a height-adjustable driver seat, upgraded cloth upholstery, front and rear center armrests, 60/40 split rear seatbacks (sedan) and a six-speaker stereo. The sedan's Convenience package adds keyless ignition/entry, Bluetooth and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls. The Hatchback's Premium package is basically the same thing, but adds 16-inch alloy wheels. An auto-dimming rearview mirror and interior ambient lighting are optional on the 1.8 S (sedan only) and 1.8 SL; the hatchback can also be equipped with a sunroof. Finally, the 1.8 SL can be equipped with a navigation system that includes a small touchscreen, real-time traffic, an iPod interface and satellite radio.

The 2011 Nissan Versa has a remarkably roomy cabin. Headroom is plentiful thanks to the car's tall roof, and generous legroom allows 6-foot passengers in both the front and rear seats to sit comfortably. Looks-wise, the car's interior is quite bland, but overall interior quality is high. The controls are simple and easy to use, and optional items like keyless ignition/entry, Bluetooth and satellite radio are welcome goodies in this budget-friendly car.

Base-price range for the 2011 Nissan Versa is $10,740-$17,650. This range is in line with subcompact cars physically smaller than the Versa, such as the 2011 Ford Fiesta subcompact. Compact cars similar in size to the Versa – the Mazda 3 and Toyota Corolla, for example – start around $16,000. (Base prices sited in this review do not include options but do factor in the manufacturer’s destination fee; Nissan’s fee for the 2011 Versa is $750.)

At $9,990 without the destination charge, Nissan is justified in touting the 2011 Versa 1.6 Base sedan as one of the lowest-priced new cars sold in the U.S.; only the least expensive Hyundai Accent two-door hatchback rivals it for the title. The starting price of the 2011 Versa 1.6 Base sedan in fact hasn’t changed since the car was introduced for model year 2009, though the destination fee has climbed slightly.

The 2011 Nissan Versa 1.6 sedan starts at $11,990 with manual transmission and $12,990 with automatic. Moving up the sedan line, the 2011 Versa 1.8 S sedan has a base price of $14,320 with manual transmission, $15,320 with automatic. The 2011 Nissan Versa 1.8 SL sedan comes only with the four-speed automatic transmission and has a base price of $17,220.

Thanks to its softly tuned suspension, the 2011 Nissan Versa offers the sort of pillow-like ride that's usually reserved for much larger cars. It handles with enough agility to suit most drivers, but those seeking a more engaging driving experience will be better served by the Ford Fiesta, Honda Fit or Mazda 2.

Both the Versa's engine choices pack a solid midrange punch, making them capable performers around town and on the freeway. We're not huge fans of the six-speed manual transmission that comes with the 1.8 S -- the low-effort clutch can be difficult to modulate -- and the four-speed automatic is similarly uninspiring. We'd recommend going with either the 1.6's five-speed manual or the SL's hatchback's CVT.

Nissan Leaf Win Car Of The Year 2011


We recently told you the Nissan Leaf has found itself being undercut by the Mitsubishi ‘I’ when it comes to price. The car has even been hit with some technical problems, but the Nissan Leaf cost satisfies some as it wins 2011 Car of the Year. Nissan Leaf 2011 "Pure Electric Car First In US".

The little Nissan was awarded the prize at the New York International Auto Show according to an article at Mashable by Charlie White. It beat off the other finalists the Audi A8 (New Audi) and the BMW 5 series, making the Leaf the first electric car to win the award.

The jurors sang the Leaf’s praises and liked its zero emissions, and that it “feels just like a normal car, only quieter.” They also said the Leaf deserved the win “because of its Carwings system that leverages crowdsourcing to enhance its fuel economy.”

The Chevy Volt despite costing $8,200 more than the Nissan Leaf still managed to win Green Car of the Year award at the same New York show. Whereas the Chevy Volt also drives like a normal car, but when its batteries are spent the gas engine takes over allowing you to drive as many miles as normal vehicles.

Nissan LEAF 2011 "Pure Electric Car First In US"

2011 Nissan Leaf is a pure electric car first offered for sale to the U.S. mass market. This 5-passenger, 4-door hatchback runs exclusively on electric power. The leaves come in two trim levels, base SV and uplevel SL. All use a 107-horsepower electric motor and lithium-ion battery. Nissan claims a maximum driving range of 100 miles. Leaves charging port can accommodate a 110-volt household outlet or 220-volt. It takes about 20 hours to charge from 110-volt outlet.
Using a special station at home 220-volt charging, fully charged takes about 8 hours. SL models are available with port "quick charge" that can charge to 80 percent capacity in 30 minutes. The leaves come only with single-speed transmission that functions like automatic. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, front-side airbags, and curtain side airbags. A navigation system is standard on all. SL model has a rearview camera and a small roof mounted solar panels, which provide cost drip into 12-volt batteries that power accessory items, such as the climate system.


The engineers and designers behind Nissan LEAF worked to create a competitively priced real-world car that would enable Nissan to lead mobility into the zero-emission era. To ensure comfort, spaciousness and cargo capacity, Nissan LEAF employs a completely new chassis and body layout.

"Our car had to be the world's first, medium-size, practical EV that motorists could afford and would want to use every day. And that's what we've created. The styling will identify not only Nissan LEAF but also the owner as a participant in the new era of zero-emission mobility," said Masato INOUE, Product Chief Designer.

Nissan LEAF's frontal styling is characterized by a sharp, upright V-shaped design featuring long, up-slanting light-emitting diode (LED) headlights that employ a blue internal reflective design that announces, "This car is special." But the headlights do more than make a statement. They are also designed to cleverly split and redirect airflow away from the door mirrors, thus reducing wind noise and drag. And, the headlights provide yet one more benefit in that they consume just 10 percent of the electricity of conventional lamps, which helps Nissan LEAF to achieve its world-class range autonomy.

Through bright trim colors inside, Nissan LEAF creates a pleasing and stylish cabin environment. An environmentally friendly "blue earth" color theme originates from the Aqua Globe body color of Nissan LEAF's introductory model. This theme is carried into the interior through blue dashboard highlights and instrument illumination.

Zero-emission mobility programs under the banner of the Renault-Nissan Alliance include partnerships with countries such as the UK and Portugal, local governments in the Japan and the USA, and other sectors, for a total of nearly 30 partnerships worldwide.

In these partnerships major efforts focus on three areas:
  • Development of a comprehensive charging infrastructure through public and private investment,
  • Incentives and subsidies from local, regional, and national governments, and
  • Public education on the individual and societal benefits of zero-emissions mobility.

2011 Nissan March " New Compact Global Car "

Nissan introduces new compact global car in Geneva. In Europe, this car will replace the Micra, the popular entry-level car that we did not get here. This car is sold as March in Japan. This is the company's first model to be developed on the new V platform. What makes the platform a special V light, which should translate to better performance and fuel economy of the current Micra / March.


One thing about the Japanese public is where the new cars being built. The Micra / March has been built at factories Nissan Japan since its introduction, but this new car will be built in a factory Nissan in Thailand.

Nissan Juke 2011 " Modern Condensed Sports "


Nissan has solely declared the Japanese market launch of its modern condensed sports crossover ride 2011 Nissan JUKE. The 2011 Nissan Juke is a new compact SUV from this Japanese automaker. Juke seats 5 and slots below the Nissan Rogue in size. It comes in three trim levels: base S, mid-level SV, and top-line SL. Each is offered with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. That engine should have plenty of power to hustle the Juke, considering that this thing is small. With a 99.6-inch wheelbase, and at 162.4 inches long, 69.5 inches wide, and 61.8 inches tall, the Juke will actually be about the same size as the wee Versa five-door, which gets by okay with just 122 hp. The Versa's wheelbase measures 102.4 inches, while its length, width, and height come in at 169.1 inches, 66.7 inches, and 60.4 inches, respectively.The sole engine is a 180-horsepower 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. All Jukes offer a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that behaves like an automatic. The front-drive SV and SL can be equipped with a 6-speed manual.

Featuring the first application of Nissan's 1.6-liter direct injected four-cylinder turbo in North America, it will be available with torque vectoring all-wheel drive, so it might just be the driver's car of the bunch, too.

That torque-vectoring system? It defaults to a 50:50 front-to-rear split, but it can push power from side-to-side along the rear axle when situations warrant.

New Nissan Qashqai 2010


Built in Britain and better than ever - the Nissan Qashqai is being revised for 2010. Nissan's mid-size crossover model will undergo an extensive update in the spring of 2010 to cement its position as the class-leading, pioneering alternative to the traditional hatchback.


Since its European launch in March 2007, the Nissan Qashqai has exceeded all sales ambitions, with the 500,000th customer delivery scheduled to take place later this month. This has helped the British manufacturing industry through the recession, as all Qashqais are built at Nissan's Sunderland plant here in the UK.


Crossover type of car this is the first of its kind, blending SUV styling and practicality with the size and handling of medium-sized hatchback. This may have been an innovator, but the public bought, many young families among them, devouring the new concept with an unexpected happy. Nissan has been struggling to meet demand ever since.

This mid-life facelift is the right time, but Nissan has done the work carefully to understand. The car may have just begun to show its age, but very popular, which means companies will not destroy the golden goose by introducing drastic changes.

However, we had to increase production to meet demand and two-and-a-half years later, demand hasn't relented. Qashqai has been key at reinforcing Nissan's position as an innovator in the European market. The updates to Nissan Qashqai make it even more attractive and will continue to bring new customers to Nissan for the first time."

Nisan Recall 540,000 Cars Worldwide
